My team was underperforming, and I realized it was my fault.

Years ago I was asked to lead a team doing work I had never personally done in an industry I was unfamiliar with. I knew I wasn’t a perfect manager, but I had been leading teams for over 30 years and felt relatively confident that my training and experience would help make it work.

I was wrong. It turned out the team had been through the ringer with their previous boss, and it became abundantly clear that they didn’t trust me. The morale on the team was awful and they had no idea what success was supposed to look like. It didn’t take long for me to realize my “tried and true” management experience was going to be put to the test. Not long after that, I could see I was failing that very test.

Are there any prerequisites for this course?

There are no prerequisites for this course — anyone who is interested in having productive one-on-ones with their team is able to enroll.

How can I get this course paid for?

Who is teaching the course?

This course is taught by Uptick Co-founders, Chris Zaugg and Michael Probert. Chris has over three decades worth of experience building and managing teams and is passionate about establishing and maintaining trusting relationships with his team members — and helping others do the same. Michael brings his experience being both a team lead and individual contributor, to give thought-provoking insights and observations from both perspectives.

What happens on the Group Cohort Calls?

We'll use these calls as an opportunity to talk through course materials, any questions you may have, and provide support as you get one-on-ones with your team up and running.

What happens on the Private Coaching Calls?

The Private Coaching Calls are your opportunity to get dedicated support on unique challenges you're facing and answers to your specific questions. This is your time, so we can talk through whatever is on your mind when it comes to one-on-ones with your team.

When are the Group Cohort calls?

With the exception of the Cohort Kickoff Call (May 3 for the May Cohort, from 12 - 1 pm CST), the Group Cohort Calls will be held weekly on Thursdays from 12 - 1 pm CST.

When are the Private Coaching Calls?

After enrolling in the course, you will have the option of scheduling your weekly coaching calls on Wednesdays or Fridays.

What if I can't attend a Group Cohort Call?

We understand that emergencies happen and that you might have to miss one of the live Group Cohort Calls — that's why we record all the calls and share them with attendees. If you miss a live call, you can catch up by watching the recording.

How much dedicated coaching will I receive?

You will have 4, 30 minute one-on-one coaching calls with either Michael or Chris. You can also live chat with Michael or Chris during office hours, directly from the course.

What's your refund policy?

We have a "30 Day Give it Your All Guarantee". If you complete the course, participate in the private and group calls, and aren’t able to generate results with your team that you’re looking for, we want you to write us for a refund.
